Dear Team G Good Cookies,

On behalf of Team G Foundation, we want to thank you for your generous contribution to our 2nd Annual Team G Cookies For Kids’ Cancer Bake Sale! Your contribution helped us raise $9,378! Since Team G’s mission is to first, funding research and development of treatments for pediatric cancers and second, to support families fighting childhood cancer, $7,503 will be sent to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer to fund pediatric cancer research and $1875 will be used to purchase Team G’s Hope Totes for newly diagnosed families fighting childhood cancer. Because Cookies for Kids’ Cancer has a matching program with OXO, you have actually raised $15,006 for pediatric cancer research!! We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your enthusiasm and continued commitment to children fighting cancer.
The 2nd Annual Team G Cookies for Kids’ Cancer Bake Sale was held on September 28th and 29th. It started with our preparation day on Saturday at the Pacific Cookie Company Outlet where the goods were brought in by the basket full! Again, it was an amazing site to see how many individuals dedicated time to make this event successful. The Girl Scouts were hard at work making signs for the bake sale on Sunday and individually labeling baked goods. Many volunteers were busy sorting the beautiful goodies onto 4 different tables for each location as the bakers brought them in. Other volunteers were bagging extra goodies and helping the packages look their best. Sunday was our actual bake sale day. We had 4 locations this year: 1) Scotts Valley Market, 2) Capitola at 41st Kings Plaza, 3) Surf City Coffee in Aptos and 4) Watsonville at the Jacob’s Heart Kidrageous event. The troops were out in force with Girl Scouts and volunteers waiving people in, Cookie Monster and Cupcake motivating each location, volunteers selling baked goods and the community joining the fight by buying cookies for pediatric cancer research. It was a site to see!

So I know you all want to know what location raised the most, right?  Ok, here is the breakdown:

1st) Scotts Valley Market brought in………………..$3,249 (Captain Stacey Botkin)

2nd) Aptos at Surf City Coffee brought in………$2,855 (Captain Kellie Merritt)

3rd) Capitola at 41st brought in…………………………$1,196 (Captain Jesse Simmons)

4th) Watsonville at Kidrageous brought in……….$907 (Captain Kristin Cosner-me)

Even though we had a friendly competition, you all came in first place in our hearts!  When you’re a parent facing your child’s cancer, there is nothing better than knowing there are so many caring and passionate individuals ready to support families fighting pediatric cancer.  Knowing we will all continue this fight with our supporters behind us is elating.

Team G Foundation is a nonprofit organization currently in the process of obtaining a 501(c)3 dedicated to supporting families fighting pediatric cancer and funding new and innovative treatments to ultimately cure childhood cancer. After a year of battling 4 year old survivor Gabriella’s cancer, committed parents Kristin and Adam along side Claudia and Diego, the parents of angel Tianna, a 14 year old from the same town who battled the same cancer, Team G Foundation was launched as a nonprofit corporation supporting all types of pediatric cancer research at leading institutes nationwide. With a dedicated Team G board of advisors who are passionate about helping children fight cancer, nothing is impossible. Through activities like our bake sale for Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, obstacle course, family festival and motivating individuals to partake in the “Fight For Gold” challenge, we will continue to raise funds and create action to fight cancer. Until we find a cure, we are dedicated to supporting families fighting this disease with our care packages, our online resources, and inspiring stories of children affected by cancer.

Thank you for your generous contribution to this event and cause. Every day, 36 children are diagnosed with cancer, and every day 7 children die. Pediatric cancer is the number one disease killer of children in the U.S. taking the lives of more children than asthma, AIDS, multiple sclerosis and muscular dystrophy combined. A lack of funding into new and improved therapies contributes to this sobering statistic. Children are worth your investment, and we will make sure. We thank you for getting involved by donating goods to our event and by sponsoring our organization. To find out more about Team G Foundation please visit: www.teamgfoundation.org.

All of our thanks for joining us on this journey to fight childhood cancer.
