Dear Teachers and Students,

Are you ready for a friendly competition?  Are you ready to go the extra mile to fight pediatric cancer?  Well, now’s your chance to make a change….by bringing change!  The Vine Hill Elementary Coin Drive is in full swing.  Gabriella is reporting back to me that some of the jars in the classroom are almost full and she is so excited about it!   “They’re not just coins mommy, but there are dollars in there too!” she says to me.  In order to motivate the students further, the class who brings in the most money will win a Pizza Party!!  We will plan a special day where the class will be spoiled with pizza and treats to congratulate them on their achievement.

When I first talked to Principal Julie about participating in this year’s fundraiser at the school (Thank you Mrs. Decleve for presenting Team G), I wanted to make sure Gabriella would be ok with her picture representing the organization and being placed on the jars in each classroom.  Both Adam and I believe it is important for Gabriella to be a motivating factor for raising pediatric research funds but want to make sure she is comfortable playing this role.  It’s a big role for a 7 year old and I know at some point she will get tired of being a “poster child for pediatric cancer” but when I talked with G, she was both nervous and excited.  We were so public and in depth with our journey it makes me question whether she will be upset by that when the daunting teenage years come.  Trust me, I’m ok with this because the alternative was not acceptable.

So, on we go to continue raising money for pediatric cancer!!

Thank you for your continuous support!

Warmly,

Kristin Cosner
